January 26, 2023 MSIC’S 61ST ANNUAL MEETING
For the first time since 2020, MSIC was excited to return to an in- person format for MSIC’s 61st Annual Meeting. The annual meeting was held at the beautiful, new Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday, January 26. Following the close of the formal meeting which was attended by credit union executives and their senior staff, MSIC next held a Member Summit, over lunch, to discuss the dramatic rise in interest rates, along with changing consumer preferences post-pandemic, and why those changes necessitate new strategy to meet both the challenges and opportunities for credit unions. Lastly, MSIC was honored to welcome its keynote speaker, Mr. Tim Barrett, President and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, who provided his views on the 2023 challenges facing the New England Mortgage Market and other important issues.
In 2023, MSIC welcomed LUSO Federal Credit Union as its newest member credit union. LUSO FCU, a Hampden County community-based credit union formed in 1971 is a well-run, healthy organization, and MSIC is pleased to add it to the Cooperative. June 2023 WELCOME: LUSO FEDERAL CREDIT UNION!
