In early March 2023, MSIC presented a governmental affairs and legislative update from Kearney, Donovan & McGee, LLC.
During the session, Dennis Kearney, Paul Donovan and Dan Cullinane offered a comprehensive presentation highlighting key issues and legislative priorities for 2023.
At the end of March 2023 and in response to the shocking collapse of Silicon Valley Bank 10 days prior, MSIC President & CEO Mike Hanson led a discussion regarding the failure and its impact on consumer confidence and trust. During the webinar, attended by almost 70 participants representing 25 MSIC member institutions, Mr. Hanson discussed fractional banking and its reliant relationship on public certainty, the implication of uncontrolled consumer contagion, and how MSIC members should help bolster and build consumer confidence by distinguishing themselves from other financial institutions with the assurance of stability as part of the MSIC Cooperative, and MSIC’s full deposit insurance.
