In April 2023 MSIC President & CEO Mike Hanson led a discussion regarding the facts, truths and misconceptions about mergers, and the positive and negative impacts of mergers on members and the credit union industry. This webinar was part of the ongoing series addressing long- term issues for credit unions.

During May 2023, MSIC facilitated a webinar titled “Telling the Credit Union Story” presented by Jessica Maldonado, VP of Public Affairs and Gracie Brandsgard, Director of Government Affairs, both from PolicyWorks, a Midwest- based public relations and government affairs firm with a passion for the credit union movement. Presentation topics included: the history of credit unions, the roots of the credit union industry, the impact of and opportunities presented by the community-driven work credit unions are doing, and the connection between the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”, and the endless potential for the continued success of credit unions and the credit union movement.
